Description:
After witnessing the murder of her parents, Gianna Donatelli has to disappear.

Arriving home from work one night, Gianna sees a trio of loan sharks led by Salazar Milano leaving her house, and finds her abusive, gambling-addicted father and her beloved mother dead. She’s afraid to name the killers, but under the gentle questioning of Detective Mark Kendrick, she reveals the truth, and is immediately placed in the Witness Protection Program.

Relocated to Hawaii, Gianna becomes Aria Romano…and encounters Kulani Ikaika.

Kulani is heart-stoppingly sexy, and the mutual attraction is immediate, but a misunderstanding leads Gianna—now Aria—to vow to stay far away from the handsome Hawaiian.

She focuses on settling in with her host Camille and Camille’s daughter Layla. Starting her new job at The Resort, Aria meets Seth Michaels, the guy everybody loves to hate…and discovers Kulani also works there as a surf instructor. Soon she can no longer deny her feelings for Kulani, and their relationship intensifies.

Secrets are hard to keep, and can be dangerous when they are revealed.

Believing Kulani stole Aria from him, Seth uncovers her true identity and reveals it to everyone, even though it results in exposing a secret of his own. Kulani feels betrayed, and Detective Kendrick has to relocate Aria once again.

As the trial for Salazar and his men approaches, Aria is the target of revenge when her foes join forces.

Can Kulani save the woman he loves and give her a Hawaiian happily-ever-after?
Or will their future come to a bloody end at the hands of their enemies…

My Opinion

Eh. This was okay, but not as good as the first. I was disappointed that it followed two entirely new characters. I wanted James' story and to stay in Alaska.

While the story was okay, I do think the suspense element has been underdeveloped in both books so far. Things come to a conclusion too easily and quickly, so for me it's just not satisfying. I also got bored of these characters. They didn't have anything original about them so felt very 2D and uninspiring.

Overall, I have book 3 since I got them all free, but I'm not sure I'll continue them. There just feels like there's something missing.
