My Opinion
I debated over whether to request this book for a few hours. It sounded like the type of books I'm looking for right now however I already had so many to read I wasn't sure adding another to my pile was a good idea. Thankfully, I went with the part of me that said you can never have to many books and hit request. I'm glad I did as well, I really enjoyed this book and it surprised me in more ways than one.
Dream Huntress definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. There was plenty of action, suspense ad danger that had me worried and routing for the main characters. There were also plenty of twists--even in the last few pages!!--which kept me turning the pages quickly as I wanted to know what was going to happen next. The drama in this book was created well and the police aspects were woven into the romance well.
Speaking of romance, this book wasn't without its hot, steamy sections that hooked me even more. I found the relationship between Jordan and Ty to be very intense and in one way it was good as the drastic changes in emotion did affect me when they had their ups and downs. However, I did find it a bit hot and cold and sometimes it did become a bit too much. I liked how things developed and how their pasts collided. I thought it was a clever use of the paranormal aspect and made way for se emotional and tense moments.
If there was one thing I wanted more of it was the paranormal side. I didn't quite get how everything worked and for me it needed a bit more development and detail. It wasn't the main focus of the book and seemed to pop up randomly. It also wasn't clear all the time whether Jordan was dreaming or not as some of the moments made it sound like she was awake.
Overall though, Dream Huntress was a fast-paced, engaging read that I couldn't put down. It kept surprising me right up until the end and I can't say that about many books. Would definitely recommend it.
