My Opinion
It was the cover that drew me to this book as it looked like a fun summer romance that I could get lost in. A Summer to Remember was a short and fast paced read that kept me turning pages. I had a few problems but mostly it was an enjoyable read that only took me a few hours to get through. It also had references to modern bands, songs and technology which was a nice change as I could actually understand them!
The intrigue at the start about what happened to Jerrica at Vassar College was built well and this happened with a few other problems that arose in the duration of the novel. It kept me reading chapter after chapter as I wanted to find out the answers so I knew the reasons behind her actions. As well as this once you did find out it wasn't as predictable as I thought and my guess, although in the same ball park was different so it was nice for it not to play out the way I expected.
As well as this the way Jerrica developed throughout the book was great, especially when she got with Paul. The romance between the two was constructed well, and even though I didn't connect as much as I would have liked with the characters I found the romance believable and interesting as it went through its ups and downs. The description of the characters and events enables you to visualise the scenes well and build a clear picture of who looks like what.
Another aspect I liked was the closeness of the friends. It was slightly annoying how they were always giving opinions on each other's lives but once again the friendship was believable and the relationship between them all added another interesting dimension to the story. As well as this they have sparked my interest about the other books in the series.
The few things I had problems with were that Jerrica did seem to come across whiney and a bit too self-deprecating at times and even though it was understandable due to what she went through, I think she and other characters played on it a bit too much, especially towards the end where she started to develop more. Maybe it's just me but personally it sometimes seemed to be used as an excuse for things and I'm not a fan of that. Also besides a few typos and missed words (minor errors) the writing was slightly jumpy and although this moved the book on at a fast pace I may have liked a bit more detail in between changes of location and time sometimes to help it flow better.
Overall though it was an interesting romance that had it ups and downs. It was intriguing, unpredictable and believable so kept me turning the pages to find out what would happen next. It does contain quite a few sex scenes and strong language so like the description states I wouldn't recommend it to anyone younger than 17, but besides from that if you want a quick summer romance that isn't just describing a summer fling, check this book out.

Excerpt
I couldn’t think straight and didn’t give a damn about the implications of my actions because I did pretty much what ever on instinct and nothing else. My lips searched for his own and when they connected, it was magic from the moment it began.
My face heated up and I knew I was a deep crimson but I didn’t care. My eyes shut tight and I kissed him, hard. Paul eventually began to respond as soon as the surprised look on his face ended and when his tongue sought mine out, I opened my mouth to him. It struck me as ironic I hadn’t truly been this intimate with another man or allowed anyone to see the real me since Kevin.
This wasn’t a mere kiss of passion and longing; this was over fourteen years of pent up longing and aggression which had forced its way to the surface. I had liked him as more than a friend since I was ten and he was going on fourteen. I didn’t even know what hormones were at that age but I knew something about him made me feel all gooey and relaxed inside. He eased away my pain like no other and although it was wrong and there was a perfect young woman named Ashley out there he belonged to, for that one hot moment, he was mine, and we both felt it with every fiber of our beings.
I pulled away reluctantly before I kissed him gently again. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have done that. You’re too good of a man and a human being to confess to cheating—emotionally or otherwise—with someone else. Especially me.”
