My Opinion

I've been looking forward to getting near the release date of this book so I could pick it up. The premise intrigued me and it sound like it would be a hot and intense read. However, I do feel slightly let down now I've reached the end.

You Are Mine is a very mixed read for me. The parts that held my interest were brilliant. When Zac and Eva interacted and battled each other I thought the pace was good.

However, these moment were broken up by sections that I struggled with. The pace dragged a lot in this book and I did find myself skimming sections. There were too many internal thoughts and analysis for my liking. The characters repeated themselves a lot and I just wanted them to hurry up and get to where they were going. Eva and her attitude annoyed me. I understood and sympathised because of her past, but she was so stubborn it got irritating. Similarly I never grew to like Zac. He felt cold and insensitive in his actions towards Eva.

This book did pick back up for the ending. I'm not sure it was worth the wait, but it shows the potential of the author's work.

Overall You Are Mine was an okay read. It may work for you, but it dragged too much for me and the enjoyable sections weren't enough to keep my full attention.
