Description:
Two brothers. One impossible choice
From the moment her suspicions are confirmed, Lily knows she’s screwed. What the hell is a nineteen year old with no future going to do with a baby? She can barely take care of herself. She needs help.
In walks Sloan McClain, the only man Lily has ever truly wanted — and the brother of the boy whose baby she’s carrying. While Lily expects a great number of outcomes when she tells Sloan her news, him proposing marriage and asking her to keep the baby is not one of them, especially not when she has every intention of giving the baby a better future by giving it the home she can’t.
Having spent the majority of his life protecting his brother from the bone-breaking fists of their father, Sloan is no stranger to hardship, loss and abandonment. He has learned long ago never to rely on anyone to take care of what was his, and that baby is his. He isn’t about to let Lily give away his family, nor can he allow that child to destroy the future he has built for Cole. His only option: marry the mother and claim the baby as his.
But no secret ever stays hidden forever.

My Opinion
I don't know what it was about this book, but everything about it should have stopped me buying it. It had pregnancy and complicated relationships between two brothers and one girl. In fact I still can't put my finger on what made me buy it, but something kept drawing me back to the Amazon so, after reading the sample, in the end I caved and downloaded it. This is also the first book by this author I have read so I wasn't sure what I was getting into, but it's safe to say I didn't expect to be as hooked as I was.
Forever His Baby was overall a sweet read. Lily is a selfless heroine and despite disagreeing with her actions, I could understand her motives and reasons for doing what she does. Similarly, Sloan's reasons came across just as strongly. As a couple they were strong and I loved how he would do anything for Lily. He was a good alpha-male, with a kind heart, and was also just as selfless, which made a change. I thought they worked well together and it was a cute romance.
The story in general surprised me. I wasn't expecting to enjoy it because of pregnancy being a key theme, but I did. It kept me hooked, made me fall in love with the characters, and I couldn't put it down. There were only two things I wasn't particularly keen on. The first was that I thought it needed a little more angst on Cole's part during the reveal. It all felt resolved too quickly. The second thing was the ending. It felt like I was suddenly reading a different book and I didn't really see the need for it. I have nothing against this type of scene, I just don't think it was needed in this book as it came out of the blue.
Overall though, this was a surprising read and I'll definitely read more by this author in the future.

This is a great example of trying something new! Maybe we should all do the same in 2015?
