My Opinion

Oh I've missed Max's special brand of crazy. If you've read any of the other books in this series you'll know who and what I'm talking about.

I've been waiting for Jason's story for what seems like forever. These books are some of the funniest I've read, and I just love the chaos in them. The Consequences of Rejection was no different. I sat reading with a stupid grin on my face and I couldn't put it down.

Seriously, what more could you want from a book?

This story brightened up a cold snowy day. It's hard to explain this series, but if you like slapstick comedy, quirky characters, and romance then you'll probably enjoy them. If you've read the others you'll know what to expect and this book just continues the crazy. I loved every second and will miss Max.

Overall, Jason and Maddy's story rounded off the series nicely. I would definitely recommend the series.

My Opinion

My opinion is split on this book. On one hand I really wanted to like it. It did hold my attention, and it was something a little different. However, on the other, I can't help but feel a little disappointed.

To start with the good, it was the idea of a hit girl which caught my attention. Having read Tia's work before, I was intrigued to see what she did with the story. In general, this book did keep me intrigued. I liked the relationship between Molly and Joshua, and I did feel a connection between them. Hit Girl started off strongly like I expected, and that's where my problem comes in.

For me, this book wasn't what I was expecting. It started off like I thought it would, but then the plot drifted from that almost completely. It wasn't as dark as I thought it would be, and it also seemed the plot and characters weakened as the book went on. Molly especially. I felt her character was a little inconsistent.

As for the ending, it all felt a little too easy and there wasn't enough detail to back up the easiness of everything. It felt like that author barely skimmed the surface. It all happened a little too quickly for my liking too.


Overall, this isn't my favourite read by this author. I still think her Prince and the Player series is by far a lot better. However, Hit Girl may be worth a go if the blurb interests you.

My Opinion

I was drawn to this book because of the sports element. While ice hockey isn't a big thing in the UK and I have no idea what the rules are except for get the puck in the goal, I love sports romances. And from the blurb, this sounded like one I'd enjoy and overall I did.

Breakaway kept me hooked and engaged. It started off strong and I felt for Stevie and Mark. I liked Stevie's integrity at the beginning and the fact the author didnt turn her into a cheat. However, I did feel the connection between the two of them and I wanted them to get together.

However, while I enjoyed it, there were two things that bugged me. First was it just didn't seem to go anywhere. The story was nice and a sweet romance, but it didn't feel like it had much depth. Second, the end kind of fizzled out. I did find myself skimming a bit more as the last few chapters progressed since the resolve came too easily.

These weren't major issues. Like I said, it made Breakaway more of a sweet read. But I do think the start was better than the end.


Overall, it was an enjoyable read. For the most part it held my interest and I enjoyed the sports element.

My Opinion

I think this has to be my favourite book in this series so far. I'll be honest and say I did consider not requesting it. Although I enjoyed the last two books, I haven't connected with LP's hockey players as much as her other characters. They aren't my favourite books by her, but since she is one of my favourite authors I couldn't resist ... and I'm glad Maddox pulled this series back for me.

Playmaker kept me up until 1:30am. I didn't realise how much time had gone by while I was reading it. I would have kept reading too had by kindle not died with three chapters left!

Anyway, the story kept me hooked and Maddox and Lacey were two people I could easily read about. Maddox wasn't what I expected, but I liked his tender side. I could also feel the connection between the two of them.

The only small complaints I have are sometimes things happened and decisions were made too quickly. I enjoyed the plot but sometimes it felt rushed. Also, I spent the majority of this book waiting for a dramatic big reveal only to have it fizzle out and not even show everyone's reaction to the news (I know that's vague. It'll make sense of you read this book). Normally, I wouldn't mind not being shown, it was just the book spent a long time setting up this drama between Maddox and Dallas. It was slightly disappointing.

I'm also not a fan of the covers. They don't seem to tie together or match, but that's not the author's issue and it doesn't affect the contents.


Overall though, I enjoyed this more than the previous two books. It kept me hooked and now I need to catch upon my missed sleep!
