A woman afraid to surrender to love.
Two lives that are about to cross...and secrets laid bare

My Opinion

This was an enjoyable read that had its hot, steamy moments, intrigue, and a small bit of mystery. I've never read anything by this author before so I wasn't sure what would develop, but she had an easy style of writing that had me flipping the pages until the early hours of the morning.

I liked the start and Jett's obvious flirting. His character came across instantly and so did Brooke. They both had strong personalities and I liked that she could hold her own against him ... sometimes.

Similarly I did enjoy the romance. I'm will admit that it was predictable, but it was hot and fun.

I did have a problem with Slvyie and her personality. She seemed too clingy for me and hyper. I didn't really get her sense of character. I also did find myself skimming some sections. I thought the book was padded out a little so there'd be enough for a trilogy. A few times the details just went on.

Overall though a good read and it had me picking up the second book instantly.
