Description:
Watch Me…The first book in New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Cynthia Eden’s sexy new romantic suspense series…DARK OBSESSION.

He was hired to protect her.

Watching gorgeous Gwen Hawthorne wasn’t a hard job—but it certainly was tempting. Chance Valentine had tried to keep his distance from the sexy socialite for years, but when her father hired him to keep watch on her—as a twenty-four, seven bodyguard—Chance knew his control was about to be pushed to the limit.

He’d never wanted another woman the way he desired her. Hot. Intense. Consuming. Being so close to Gwen, Chance knew that he wouldn’t be able to resist her. So he gave into his need, her need, and he took them both to the edge of a dark and consuming desire.

But Chance soon realizes that he isn’t the only one watching Gwen. Someone else is out there, a stalker who won’t rest until Gwen is destroyed. Every day, every moment…Gwen is in danger. And Chance knows that if he can’t unmask the stalker, then he may just lose the only woman he has ever loved.

My Opinion

I'm all for books with bodyguards and hot alpha males so when I saw the blurb on this book I instantly requested it. I love the romantic suspense genre and this book didn't fail to live up to the others I've read this year.

Having not read anything by this author before, I wasn't sure what I was going to get. However, I was hooked instantly and found myself unable to put my Kindle down. Watch Me is a fast-paced read that's filled with plenty of action and the right amount of romance ... Well it's more reconnecting and heated scenes but it's still great to see as it unfolds, even if I would have wanted more detail on their pasts.

I liked Gwen. She was stubborn and feisty, and although sometimes I felt she was a bit stupid for pushing the guards away, I can understand why she did it. Most of the time I thought her reactions were believable and I enjoyed how she came to admit her feelings. Similarly I really liked Chance. He was everything you want in an bodyguard and he didn't come across as an asshole, which was refreshing. You could tell he really was putting Gwen first out of love.

The only downside to this book is that it was on the shorter side. I was enjoying everything, and just wanted a few more chapters at the end so it didn't feel as rushed. Also, who was behind everything wasn't hidden as well as I would have liked, but I didn't guess the reasoning for it so there were some surprises.

Overall, it was a good romantic suspense. The characters were likable and the fast-paced action stopped me from being able to put it down.
